From the Deck-A Taste of Sardinia #KaiCapische

It’s a beautiful breezy afternoon here in Maui and we are about ready to board the Kai Kanani 2 for #KaiCapische – A Taste of Sardinia Sunset Cruise.   Chef Christopher Kulis of The Market Maui by Capische will be featuring wines from the Argiolas Estate with several courses of Sardinian themed appetizers.  Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean with a cuisine rich in cheese, grapes and meats.  We can’t wait to see what Chef Kulis has in store for us.

Captain Cary greats us with a warm Aloha and we are off to sea.  Chef Kulis starts with a fresh Market breads, with various grilled vegetables and cured meats.  There is plenty to go around and everybody helps themselves along with a glass of Argiolas Rosato.  The flavor is full of floral, warm tropical flower notes and is reminiscent of our island paradise.

Bradda Dwight of HawaiiOnTV  joins us up on the bow with his ukulele to serenade us with some sweet Hawaiian music and band standards.  Mandy soon arrives with plates of Ahi Poke which pair perfectly with the Rosato.

Chef Kulis serves our next course of Clams & Couscous paired expertly with Garlic Vinaigrette, Cherry Tomatoes and Parsley.   The crew is great about bringing everything to us so we don’t have to move from our comfy seats on the bow.

The next wine served by our crew is the light & crispy Argiolas Costamolino which is light and crispy with soft aromas of pineapple, citrus & honey. This pairs well with the next course of Kauai Shrimp with Meyer Lemon, Bottagara & Fennel.

As we continue sailing along the Wailea Coastline our passengers are all smiles, enjoying the creations of Chef Kulis as well as the beautiful scenery. This is the perfect time to sample a Kai Kanani special Kai Cooler made with Organic Maui Ocean Vodka.

Next on the menu is a tasty Pork Ragu with Capers, Saffron and Market made Pasta. For this round we choose a local Kona Brewing Company beer which the Kai Kanani has on tap.

As the sun sinks into the horizon our crew comes around with a decadant dessert of Cheesecake with Honey Fila Dough. Bradda Dwight blows the traditional Pu (conch shell) at sunset to mark the end of the day and another beautiful Kai Kanani Sunset Cruise
