Maui Whale Watching Tour
From December to April, the shallow basin between the four islands of Maui County (Maui, Lanai, Molokai, and Kahoolawe) is the preferred destination of the endangered Humpback Whale. Migrating thousands of miles from the cold waters of Alaska to these warm Hawaiian waters, Humpback Whales come here each year to mate and give birth.
Marine Naturalists On Board
Our marine naturalists infuse your first-hand experience of these magnificent creatures with everything science can tell us about their fascinating lives. With the aid of an on-board hydrophone, we’ll listen to Humpback Whales as they talk, communicate and sing with one another.
Guaranteed Whale Sightings
During our Whale Watching season we guarantee whale sightings, or you can go on another Kai Kanani whale watch tour for free!
Partnering and Supporting the Whale Sanctuary
The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, which is jointly managed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the State of Hawai`i, lies within the shallow warm waters surrounding the main Hawaiian Islands and constitutes one of the world’s most important humpback whale habitats.
Through education, research and resource protection activities, the sanctuary strives to protect humpback whales and their habitat in Hawai`i. Kai Kanani is a proud partner of the Sanctuary.
